Grief and the Holidays
A 5-Week Supported Journey
Move through this holiday season with more steadiness, meaning, and connection - even in the midst of loss.
The holidays can magnify grief in ways few other seasons do. The world sparkles with celebration while for you, something essential is missing. Even simple traditions can feel complicated or painful.
I know this terrain personally. After the death of my son, I discovered how the holidays could hold both heartbreak and beauty - and how much gentler the season can become with guidance, intention, and support.
That’s what this five-week experience is designed to offer you.

Why This Matters
The holidays bring expectations -
gatherings
traditions,
“shoulds”
joy
happiness
When you’re carrying loss, all of that can feel heavy, confusing, or lonely.
You may be worried about how to handle invitations, memories, or well-meaning family who don’t know what to say.
You may not even know what you want this season to look like.
What if you could meet it all with more compassion, steadiness, and clarity?
That’s what this journey is for.

Inner Shifts You’ll Experience
I’ll make sure you have ideas and strategies and what you’ll gain here is the inner change that makes them work.
More grounded and calm - so you can make choices from your center instead of reacting to expectations.
Clarity and boundaries - easing tension and guilt around family and friends.
Language for your needs - so conversations become connecting rather than draining.
New rituals and meaning - honouring both your love and your loss.
Emotional resilience - that carries you into the new year.
You’ll begin to move through the holidays with more steadiness, presence, and connection — not in spite of your grief, but with it.
Who This Is For
This supportive journey is for you if:
You’re dreading the holidays or unsure how you’ll get through them.
You want to show up for your people, but you’re tired, sad, or overwhelmed.
You feel torn between honouring your loss and meeting the world’s expectations.
You’re ready for a kinder, more sustainable way to move through the season
My Story
Ben placing the star (2014)
After my son died, I remember facing that first holiday season feeling lost - knowing I couldn’t possibly do the things we used to do, be with people who didn’t know what to say, or make it through the lights and music that suddenly felt so painful.
I was lucky. That first year, just 3 months after Ben died, we cancelled Christmas. My daughter and I ignored the whole thing as much as we were able.
It took time, and self compassion, and support to find ways that felt right for me - ways to bring both my grief and my love into the season.
Now, years later, I help others find that same peace - so the holidays can hold space for both sorrow and connection, absence and meaning. So you don’t have to cancel the holidays…unless you choose to.
What Others Say
Kirsteen W-G
“Suzanne has been transformational in helping me understand and process my own grief, as well as how to better support others through theirs. Her exceptional coaching skills, deep empathy, and grounded compassion create a space that feels both safe and empowering. She has a remarkable ability to meet you exactly where you are and gently guide you through the complexity of grief with wisdom and care. I can't recommend her highly enough to anyone navigating loss or supporting someone who is.”
Rick D
“The education about grief Suzanne provides is so valuable. I feel confident what I’m experiencing is normal. Through working with her, I’ve often already learned what might be coming next and what to do when it does.”
